I have a small build, what kind of Harley-Davidson should I look at buying?

I'm 5'1" and only weigh 115, I want to buy a Harley but I'm not sure what kind to look for. Any suggestions to what types of Harley's I should look at?

Based on your size Sarah, any Sportster, Softtail or Dyna can work for you. Even though the Big Twins are heavier, they sit low so they're not hard to push around the parking lot, or driveway. All these bikes are easily lowered. Just make sure you feel comfortable taking them off the kickstand.
I have an older Sportster, but really feel more comfortable teaching my girlfriend on a FXST that I'm looking to get. It just feels more comfortable for smaller riders.

The Sportster line of HD is the best for smaller build people. They have one in particular called the Sportster Low which has a lower seat height.
Possibly a Softtail also, but I would say go to a dealer to sit on them and feel how well they fit you.

Just about any of the DYNA or SOFTAIL lines would be fine. Just make sure you can get both feet on the ground. However, I would recommend you look at Victory Motorcycles as opposed to Harleys. I've owned 2 harleys, 04 fatboy and 03 vrod, and currently ride a 06 Victory Kingpin. Harley makes a classic bike and has a huge dealer network. But, their bikes break down regularly and are quite expensive to fix. My 04 fatboy needed over $4k in repairs before it reached 15k miles. Almost every victory has a seat height of 26 inches or lower and are truely great bikes. Just please don't buy a Harley just to buy a Harley, which by asking this question makes me think you are. Take a look at the other american motorcycle before you sign for that harley. You will be pleasantly surprised at how modern engineering can make a motorcycle with bulletproof reliability and fantastic style. Test ride a harley, and then test ride a victory, Im sure you will choose the victory. I havent met anyone who has.

I have seen small people drive just about every size bike. However, since you asked Harley does make a Sporster model called the "hugger" which is lower than the standard model Sportster. If you can't find one to buy, then there are ways to lower almost any other bike to fit, good luck.

Isn't it a little corny by now to be buying a Harley? If you are interested in motorcycles look into buying a real bike and not a chrome plated antique.
