prize. should i leave? i'd say i have a one in ten chance of winning a contest of being published. it's one of the best ways to get published - but i sit on the board of the org that offers the prize. is it worth leaving the organization to win the prize? should i leave for six months and come back? a year? just quit? don't quit because my role there gives me credibility in my field?
i haven't entered the contestyet because A. the contest entry deadline hasn't expired; and B. it would be unethical in my estimation to do so while sitting on the board!
it is pretty much anonymously entered. but some of the prelim judges would come from the board i expect. the final judge would be an impartial person outside our territory most likely. i don't have anything to do with the contest as a board member.
