i have a samsung impression, the touch screen is no longer working. how do i fix this?

okay,i've had this phone for a while now.
and this problem has been going on for about a week or two.
my touch screen freezes up and i can't click on anything.
the menu button, dial button, and contact button.
bu when i slide the phone open i can send calls and messages, while the touch screen is still not working. how do i fix this?
