I have a road bike question?

Ok so I am looking for a good commuter road bike, just to get me around town. My price range is slightly above $300. Preferably light weight. Early 90's or so. Does any one have some suggestions on makes or models of some bikes? Probably not the best place to look but I am looking on craigslist so my options are some what limited. I will keep you posted on what I find and hope you guys can help me out. Thanks.
 
What is your need in the commuter? Do you need places to hold your stuff? Will you be doing other stuff with the bike. I suggest going to all the brands web pages and seeking out your answer. otherwise ours will be very varied. Also, go to your local bike shop and get some good ideas. Otherwise I'll tell you to buy a GT, or a Schwinn.
