i have a question on the laws of physics?

i do not understand how the laws of physics says that matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed yet the big bang created all matter and energy
well ok then where did matter and energy come from if it cannot be created
yes i undertand what the big bang is now but the fact that matter has always been around is a strange concept to me and how could it be compressed is strange aswell
 
Well neither of that happened (the destroying or creating) but the big bang is not the creation of matter or energy, merely an explosion of it that created our universe. it is thought that there was a great deal of highly compressed matter and energy that exploded, where that matter and energy came from, we do not know. Also, e=mc^2 shows how matter can be converted into energy and vice versa (though very hard). The big bang did not create matter or energy, it unleashed it, somehow there was already a ton of it compressed
