...you're calling it now)? Every time I ask a question about global warming/climate change I have some liberal telling me "the weather changes why can't you understand that". I understand the weather changes, why can't liberals understand the weather changes in cycles and it doesn't have to be for any particular reason other than the weather is just changing?

I'm not a big believer in global warming (or whatever) but the weather does indeed change for a reason. People are just trying to figure out what the reason is.

i am a liberal and i do believe it is global warming causing climate change. wake up it isnt a republican or democrat issue. there are plenty on both sides that dont want to believe that we are destroying our planet. but bush ignored it for 8 years. obama is trying to do something to clean up the poision we are dumping into the atmosphere. but sadly the ass holes in both houses, democrats and republicans wont work with him.

if you keep burning fuels at the alarming rate we've been, and the methane from the insane amount of cows we are raising, something will happen, most scientist are liberals, only because once you reach a certain point of education you can not go back to worshiping 2000 years old dead people and there crazy ideas that the world is going to end some day, like conservative Christians do, time to take you heads out of the sand and look around

Because they want to make money off of it. Al Gore is pushing this by flying around in his personal jet burning up millions of gallons of jet fuel and polluting the envirnment while doing so.

It isn't just "liberal" scientists who claim the earth is getting warmer. Many are also on the same page as to what is affecting this change. It isn't all "man made," but we are adding to global warming. It is fact.

Im not a Liberal, But I am observant

Go to google Earth, and Look around the globe, zoom in and look at the 1000 of cities that Put Carbon into the Air. Think about the Oil that is being used up and burned into the Air ( IS THAT NATURAL) , Can you be so narrow minded to think that it is a Cycle that will have no effect on the earths ecosystem.

Because you can't legislate behavior, taxes, spending etc. on the premise that weather patterns are random or cyclical.

LOL, I live in Oklahoma and we got 12 inches of snow yesterday, that's some global warming...even Al Gore has changed his tune on global warming.

The weather changes are regional and more apt to be caused by the fact that the earth is in the process of reversing its magnetic poles. It happens approx. every 26,000 years. The sun reverses its poles every 11 years but this time the earth will reverse at about the same time. Look it up. NASA has all kinds of articles about it.

Nobody knows what will happen when the shift finally takes place but there will be earthquakes and volcanoes. Parts of what is now the north pole will melt. The earth will not be protected from the rays of the sun for 6 mos to 2 years. This is what the government should be warning us about, not some goofy C02 propaganda.

EDIT: You don't believe NASA??? It's been on the History Channel. You better look it up people. It's for real.

Liberals will never tell the truth about global warming....cooling....change or what ever they are calling it now.The truth is,.it is not about the environment ,it is about raising taxes and controlling peoples lives.

I'll try to put it in Conservative terms. Rich, wealthy, Republicans love big cars/SUV's. They burn what are known as fossil fuels. Petroleum is a fossil fuel. These fuels, when burned, emit gasses which are harmful to the atmosphere which surrounds our tender planet. The glaciers don't lie my friend. You think the oceans have just warmed up because we've had a few more sunny days? Man is killing the planet. (Both Repub's and Dem's) We're all guilty.

I count myself as a liberal, and I don't believe in climate change.

I agree, sometimes the weather just changes. The climate has alternated between blistering heat and freezing cold for millions of years; the period we live in is actually quite rare in that we have relatively stable temperatures.

There are often several things people neglect to take account of when talking about climate change:
-Firstly, it takes thousands of years. Not hundreds and certainly not decades or from year to year (so going, omg we've had the coldest/warmest winter in ages is meaningless).
-Temperature records go back for only a couple of hundred years. That's nowhere near enough to pick up any pattern of change.
-We've always had funny weather. Trying to look at patterns from year to year is just pointless.
-CO2 levels have been shown to rise AFTER climate change, as a result of it, not as a cause of it. It could well still be rising after the last climate change about 10,000 years ago.

I don't think we're experiencing any more than blips in weather patterns in my opinion, and there's no point trying to read anything else into it. I don't think that means we should just go ahead and pollute the planet as much as we like either, but I also don't think anyone needs to worry too much.

I see global warming deniers quoting from people who believe in global warming but not man-made global warming all the time, then in the next sentence the same people are quoting from someone who thinks ice is increasing in the poles and that whoever disagrees is an idiotic fraud (Limbaugh). You people don't know what you are talking about, don't WANT to know about what you are talking about, and simply don't really care about what you are talking about. What you do care about is taxes. That's fine, but separate your ignorant whining from the work of real science. You constantly embarrass yourselves but don't know enough to realize it.

Trying to talk sense to liberals on this (or any) issue is an exercise in futility.
We have global warming every day...from the sun. We have global cooling every day...from lack of sun.

I believe there is no man-made global warming.

Because scientists have studied the changes in the weather all over the world since records began, and looked at archaeological evidence about the weather in the far past, and have found WHY it's 'just changing'. It does change over time, but right now it's changing so fast that human activity is the only way to explain it. No reputable scientist disputes this, least of all the ones actually studying the climate.

Sorry. You're perfectly entitled to your own opinion... but not your own facts.

(In that vein, Magoo... cite your source? I'm pretty sure no such thing has been proven.)

Because the world has been indoctrinated to hate corporations and our hearts go out to the poor penguins that got covered in oil. Once you realize what carbon taxing means you start to see a reason why the most wasteful people in the world all of a sudden starts to care about the environment.

Global warming is very deceptive, I believed it at first, but now I know it's the changing climates.
