I have a question abt car audio?

I have a 91 cutlass supreme. I have two 12's, 2000w each and a 1200 w xplode amp /capacitor, and when the base hits, my headlights dim, rpms drop, and car surges with the base if that makes any sence... My question is what can I do to fix it so it doesnt surge like that?? besides getting new altinater because I just did that and it still does it.. Somebody please help me
