It is known that the medical procedure that Betty Hill described in her 1961 alien abduction did not exist until years later.. I think she and her husband were telling the truth?

They did a pregnancy test on Betty and this is how she described it years before this test was known -

"The doctor cleaned his hands with a liquid and put examination gloves on. He took out a hypodermic needle some four to six inches long to conduct what he said was a pregnancy exam. He used a wet swab on her navel. He thrust the needle into it, which caused Betty agonizing pain, but the doctor rubbed her forehead and the pain vanished."

please explain how she knew about this medical exam in full detail.

Perhaps she was told about it or coached on it by someone with medical knowledge.
Perhaps the story was added to the story years after it occurred.
When you say "it is known" it would be more convincing if you provided links (or at the very least the medical term for the procedure so we can do our own research).
