The battery and sensor light in my 1981 Toyota Pickup came on recently, I changed the alternator out and the light went out. The next day after a little driving the light came back on. After a couple hours of the truck being off I turned it back on and the light stayed off for a while, then came back on again. This was with the new alternator installed. I'm trying to figure out what the most likely explanation for this is. The alternator is externally regulated if that makes a difference. Is there any other explanation for the lights coming on? Any diagnosis of this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
