I have a problem with my Ford Escort. Can you help?

When I brake there is a strong vibration at the front which slows down as the car slows down and steering becomes a bit erratic. In July I got new discs and yesterday I got front wishbones and anti-roll bar bushes fitted and the tyres balanced. But the vibration persists. Any ideas?

have you noticed when you brake that the the brake pedal goes up and down? if so then it's defo something wrong with your brake set up.. whether its i faulty pair/ cheap pair of disc that av warped or the disc's haven't been fitted correctly,

It sounds like the rotors themselves may be warped. This is prone to happen instantaniously and greatly depends upon the quality of your rotors. Cheaper is not always better. This tends to happen more after a heavy rain and will cause the rotors to warp when they are heated by the car, due to friction, and cooled quickly by a mixture of air and water. have them checked to make sure they are still true.... (i.e. proper spec)
