I have a problem with my 52 reg vauxhall corsa?

Its stood for a while and the battery went totally dead. Didnt even have the power to unlock the doors with the remote. After I gave the battery a good charge it started but the engine management light was on suggesting there is a fault. Could the dead battery have caused this or is this just coincidence and it has a different fault. The light was definitely not on before the battery went dead
 
The only real way to answer this is to take it to a garage where they can hook up a code reader which will tell them whatever fault is stored on the system causing the warning light to come on.
I mean, people may well guess at an answer, but that's all it'll be.
