I have a Pontiac grand prix what can i do to keep my engine in good shape?

I want to keep my car in good shape I don't have money to just go buy a new one when this breaks so I'm trying to keep it in good shape is there anything i can do to help it stay working longer there is nothing wrong with it now but I want to make sure it stays like that. I'm not very good with cars so that's why i thought i could come on here and ask maybe someone can help me out please
 
use fully synthetic oil 5-50 if possible it reduces wear substantially and keeps the engine very clean, use 60% antifreeze/40% water as coolant less stress on the hoses
 
Proper maintenance (oil changes every 3,000 miles) use a good oil (Castrol GTX), Don't buy cheap gas (I always use Shell), Don't "Drive it like you stole it", Winterize Your Car, spark plugs should be checked approximately every 10000 miles and atleast once a week drive for about a half hour with the radio down and listen to your engine, it can tell you ahead of time anything it may require in the future!!
