laptop? i have an acer 10 1/2 inch laptop...it doesnt have a cd/dvd burner...i was wondering if i could use my dvd player as a burner to put cd's onto my computer...would it work?? need answers quick...need to put cd's on my computer today before i leave to go on vacation tonight
 
There are usb adapters that would allow you to view the video coming from your dvd player, And even record it live. But you would not be able to access and rip the data as though it were an internal drive.

I reccomend you go to a computer store and pick up an "external usb dvd drive"
