None. Keeping your memory card in the camera is about the safest place to keep it. Then you never need to worry about forgetting to put it in when taking spontaneous shots.

You should format the card after each time you copy all the image files to your computer. This will assure that you don't end up with corrupted images, something that happens a lot when users try to make "more room" on their card as it fills by deleting individual files.
 
card out while not using? the camera .I plan to take the batteries out when not in use .I also plan to transfer my pictures to my PC with the usb cable .I already formated the memory card and the instructions say you only have to reformat every so often. Is there any reay reason why I shouldn't store my memory card right in the camera .It seems taking it in and out would cause more damage .Thanks
