i have a old pc which has a admin account?

now i have set up my own account..no password with it yet as it is only for me as i am single and live alone...
the computer has someone Else's account on it and it does not seem to have password protection on it...all the files have been deleted...but is has the guys name on hot mail in his admin account..

do i just delete his account ?...it says it is registered to him and a bunch od numbers come up on screen i guess that's the modem no.

i want to connect it to the internet..and register it under my name

delete any accounts that you do not want and then to transfer registered owner to you follow these steps.

Go to the Start Menu and choose Run from the menu

Type regedit in the box and press OK

Press on the + sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

Scroll down to find SOFTWARE Press on the + sign

Scroll down to find Microsoft Press on the + sign

Scroll down to find Windows NT Press on the + sign

Click on Current Version and make it blue

In the right side you will see details

Double click on Registered Owner or Organization. Change the details.

Exit Registry and Reboot computer.
 
well you might question as to what else might be hidden on the hardrive right? download recuvva its free run it on deep scan you will be amazed at what this program pulls back ,with regards to your pc in general id wipe it and stick a new OS on .
 
you could format the hard drive, but that will delete everything and you will have to relaod the operating system, so be careful if your not sure what your doing. On internet explorer, restore to default settings/or delete files and cookies
