I have a mountain bike question and could use some help?

Do they not make a bash guard designed to be used in conjunction with the outer chain ring of a crankset, so that you can have all three chain rings and not just the middle and smaller chain rings? I just want something that will protect my outer chainrings on my carbon crankset that I spent a wazzoo on, but at the same time, I don't want to give up that outer chainring. I just bought a Salsa Tooth Fairy Triple Bashguard thinking that will do the trick but I get it in the mail today and look at the instructions and it says that you have to remove the outer chainring... #$%% it. I just want a good outer guard that will work. Please shoot me with some answers. I am sure that someone somewhere makes something that will work. Let me know. Thanks
