I was "Exploring" the buttons on my 2 way radio, and I came across a tiny red button near the top with an exclamation point on it. When I pressed it, it illuminated the little LCD screen. Upon holding it down a little longer, the LCD was no longer illuminated. Instead, it let out a loud siren sound, which continued for a few seconds. Somebody began to respond over the radio. Panicked, I turned the radio off.
Am I in any trouble? Did it send a signal to emergency services, or did it just produce a loud noise? I honestly have no idea what this button did.
