I have a lethal weakness for bread and butter. How will I ever get past this?

Cold turkey?

Whenever I am stressed or angry, I find that bread and butter are the perfect remedy.

But I have 3 or 4 slices of bread at a go, and an unhealthy and sickening amount of butter -- which is probably gonna kill me when I am 50.

What can I do instead, in times of stress or anger? I have a big problem with emotional eating.

I tend to carry on with things rather than procrastinate, but my body's response to stress tells my brain that it needs carbohydrates and fats I think. hence the bread and butter binge....which just makes me feel awful after doing so. :(
