...Communications or getting a BS? The reasons why I want to get a second Associates degree are because it would be easier with my work schedule, it would take less time due to less prerequisites. I also feel like I'm selling myself short because I could go to a university and get a bachelors instead.

Definitely go for the Bachelor's.
In this situation 2 and 2 does not equal 4. Upper division courses are more advanced and the name of a University on your resume has more value than a 2yr community college.

Also, most jobs requiring college education refer to Bachelor's and up. Associate degrees normally fall short when a college degree is required. No one asks- do you have an Associates? If you are planning to continue your education you might as well put a little more time into it and get the full payoff of having a BS.
