I have a garmin nuvi 760 and need to delete all the POI from the search history.?

When I click Where to > Points of Interest > Spell Name. All my previous searches are stored and viewable when clicking the folder icon next to the search text box. I need to delete all those old searches and I have tried doing a restore and delete history but no go.
