...finding a cause for this? It's a 1995 Ford F 150 pick up truck with a 5.0 motor Rear axle drive with a push button over drive on the Calum, it is a U Type automatic C6 Transmission it shifts in every forward gear just not reverse. can some one give me any suggestions on fixing this problem?
 
The usual suspect is the transmission linkage, bent or missing parts is fairly common. The best thing to do is get under there and have a look.
 
ok most automatics still have a stick somewhere ( check the steering wheel ) but sometimes u have to push the brake before u chang it to reverse and if not then jut pull the stick into place and drive most cars should have a way to put it in reverse otherwise u would b totally skrewed up when u drive
 
When a transmission is on its way out,reverse is the first to quit,since it need much more hydraulic pressure to engage reverse gear than any forward gear.It is almost always internal problem for no reverse engagement.
