pull your carpet back on the passenger side front it could be a heater core leaking. If you have moisture on your windows that is for sure what it is. Never heard of a cabin filter ?
 
Lift up the hood, on the cowling (i think it is called, towards the left side, there is a latch). Lift it open, it should be there. (At least it is on my ford van)
