i have a fish pond , one that is used outside, i want to put goldfish in it,?

i am wondering if being i will have it in the living room if it will smell fishy? on the aquariums there is a lid to sort of keep the smell down, has anyone ever done this brought in a pond into the house. it is really cool looking. thank you for any advice.
