I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla LE. I bought it used this summer. It did not come with any maintenance records or owner's manual. It has 130,000+ miles.
1. My car has been going through a lot of oil. It doesn't seem to be burning it. I had the oil and oil filter changed this weekend. The guy said he didn't notice any leaks. Could it have been because my filter wasn't changed in awhile? Or could it be something with the engine (my check engine light is on, also).
2. The guy who did the oil change recommended I get a radiator flush and transmission fluid/filter change. He had pretty steep prices ($150/each of these) so I called around to get other estimates. One guy I talked to said that my car does not have a a transmission filter. Is this true?
3. I notice a sort of clicking noise when I accelerate. It tends to go away after I have driven for a bit. Any idea as to what this is?
