I have a dell dimension e310, put in 2gb ram(maximum ram capacity) and got blue

screen, wtf help? Ok so I put 2gb of ram into it,then i turned it on, it loaded, and got the blue screen. I looked at the setup utility on my pc and noticed that my MHz is 533, and on the ram box I read 667MHz. could this be the problem? Then I put my old ram back in and still got the problem. I ended up erasing everything and now it starts up but i lost all my s*** which pissed me the f*** off. I want to install it but what do i do because i dont want it to fail on me again
