i have a chevy beretta 94 3.1 transmission will not engage into gear unless i rive

up motor? does anyone know what may be causing this to happen? i hear the tcc switch but do not know where its located on the 3.1 liter engine, i have placed a new throttle postion sensor on car but did not help with it not shifting.
i have the proper fluid level ,new filter, new throttle position sensor, new plugs, new plug wires checked gap,what can be causing the transmission to only enage when i riv up the rpms and then it has a ruff shirt into gears.

Assuming you have an automatic transmission, first thing you should check is transmission fluid level! One reason for delayed engagement is low fluid, revving the engine pumps what fluid there is up..

It just might be the kick down switch ( that's the name I herd called by) it is located in or on the transmission body itself.
