as subject says.... i have a broken fuel line on my 2006 2.2 liter chevy cobalt. the line is broken right at the point on going in to the fuel pump on the fuel tank. been told would have to buy the whole fuel pump assembly... how can i fix this with out havin to buy the whole fuel pump. is there a way to just fix the hose..... please help.

You could go to your friendly local scrapyard and find a 2006 Cobalt to pull the pump off of for much cheaper than factory new parts. Also, rubber hoses can be replaced and metal can be repaired if it's not too bad.

you can buy a length of fuel line like 1ft or so and buy a flare tool ($20) and a few fittings. the flare tool will come with instructions, you'll probably want a Double flare. then its just a matter of connecting the fittings.
Good Luck!!!

If you've got enough of the original output pipe on the pump, you can install a piece of flex hose with a compression fitting at each end and save the day. If you have skills and can find your way around a toolbox, it's not so hard to do.
