Is the cancellous bone always near the endosteum? Trying to figure ways to remember...
also i know periosteum is next to circumfrential lamella and compact bone but are the circumfrential lamella and compact bone next to each other also?

Cancellous bone is the spongy interior layer of bone that protects the bone marrow. As opposed to cortical bone that surrounds the cancellous bone. So ultimately it is not always associated with the endosteum although cancellous bone is often found on the edges of bones like the arms and legs. Cancellous bone is there to protect the bone marrow.
