i have a bike that the person before me cut all the wires,Its a 1977 yamaha dt 250?

the head lights,all the lights,ignition.kill switch but i know you dont need it because its not grounded.

if i get a voltage metter and start putting them on the wires would it show that the ignition wires are hot.
 
Gee it sounds more like a science project than a bike! you'll need a Volt /ohm meter. Wiring diagram with color codes and the ability to read it. Crimper, Shrink tube, big box of connectors and a length of wiring harness cut out of a junk car. paitents and attention to details combined with plan "B" which is a box of fuses and your on your way. Sort of...May take several attempts is your new mantra!
