Are you new to back problems or do you have a diagnosed condition? The more information you can give us the more we can help you. If you are new to back problems, I would strongly recommend that you avoid bending, twisting, or lifting to allow things to calm down. Sitting is often painful for anyone who is suffering from back pain. You might try sitting in a recliner with your legs bent in the air and see if that takes the pressure of your spine or laying down on your back with two pillows under your knees to have them bent.
You might try taking advil, aleve, or motrin if you can tolerate it around the clock for a week.
Also alternating between ice and heat.
If things get worse or the pain continues then you should see a doctor to have things properly diagnosed.
Good luck and keep us posted.
