i was wondering where it goes? i was looking for the temperature sensor and i came across another hose it looks like its coming from the transmission and i wanna know if its supposed to go somewhere else oh and also i have one wire that its not connected would that be why the temperature gauge is not working where would that wire go to?

Could be a vacuum connection that goes to a port on the carburettor or intake manifold. If so, with it disconnected your up-shift points will be higher than they should be.

if its a thin hose that is just dangling down, that should be a breather tube, nothing to be concerned about. the temperature switch is normally found on the water pump housing or thermostat outlet, not the transmission, if you ground the wire and it causes the temp gauge to go to hot, then you found a loose temp gauge wire.
