I have a 97' Honda Accord and the engine will not turn over well.does anyone

know what could be wrong with it? My car gives me an 'effort' sound every time I try an start my engine. Eventually it turns over but after at least 7-10 attempts. I just replaced the battery so i'm pretty sure that is not the cause. Thanks for any advice.
 
Your alternator could have failed about the same time your old battery failed. You need to drive to an auto parts store or shop to have the battery charging voltage checked to make sure the alternator is good. It should have been checked when you replaced the battery. Also make sure the battery cables and cable connections to the battery are clean and tight.
