When I tried to rent a trailer for moving from u-haul, they said they don't rent trailers for Explorers, for what reason I do not know. I currently have a hitch at 3500 max gross weight and I would like to get a small RV trailer for travelling. The car has high miles but we have kept in very good running condition, including a new transmission, front end alignment tie rods and the works, but are wondering about the hitch weight and also about the safety and ability of hooking up an RV to my car. Any thoughts about this?
I have a 97 ford explorer 6 cylinder and would like to pull a small travel trailer?
