lights go dim.? Battery tested better than average. It did not do this for the mechanic so he could not find the source of the problem. The battery has never totally drained and sometimes the light goes out after the truck has run for awhile or after it has been turned off and parked for awhile.
 
You might want to also check the battery terminals. You might have a corrosion buildup that would make the connection faulty (it looks like white chalk). Just take a wire brush to it if you do.
 
Could be the alternator is going bad. You know autozone or Advance auto parts will test you battery, alternator and starter FOR FREE! Go check those and move on from there.
