You've had it since feb and dont know this stuff??
It should be serviced every 3 months or 3,000 miles.
You dont need to add oil you need to have the thing serviced!
And while you are there ask the nice high school dropout with all the facial piercings who's changing your oil filter to show you where to add oil next time you need to. And then ponder the fact that he knew the most basic bit of info about your vehicle and you did'nt.
Is your future begining to seem blury?

Anyone with a 4.0 motor needs to read this!! The flat tappet camshaft on a 4.0 requires ZDDP (zinc) for wear protection and nearly ALL oil companies have removed Zinc from their oil because newer cars have roller cams (which don't require zinc) and zinc was causing premature catalytic converter failure. Many Jeepers including myself have been running Rotella T 15w 40. It's cheap and has the 1100ppm ZDDP that our beloved straight sixes need. There are a few other Oils out there that have Zinc and also some additives but the Rotella seems to be the cheapest. Just thought I would share this so we can keep our jeeps running strong!!!!
 
Bought this champ used back in feb. It still runs great but i need to add oil. Didnt have a user man. when i bought it and it doest say anywhere on the best what type of oil. need some help. has 118k miles. 4L
