I have a 94 ford tempo that stalls when you come to a light or slow down to

Also could be a temperature sensor. highly looked over but i have had the problem myself.
 
The 94 Tempo had problems with excessive crankcase blow-by. Replace the PCV valve every 30000 miles on this car, regardless of what the book says. Also check the vacuum line going from the pcv valve to the intake. It is prone to collapsing and causing a leak.

If it is a 2.3 liter remove the vacuum line going to the MAP Sensor and blow through it. The MAP sensors had a white gel that would clog the vacuum line and cause it to stall.

Keep the oil changed regularly- the crankcase vapors will contain quite a bit of fuel between oil changes on this motor.

Look for other vacuum leaks as well but pay close attention to the pcv
hose.
 
Look for a vacuum leak. That is your most likely problem with the problem you described.
