parked-the thermostat goes? from just before C (cool) to H (hot). i recently had the waterpump, radiator, timing belt and thermostat replaced. why is this happening? the car doesnt smoke or make any noise when i notice the thermostat creeping towards HOT...what should i do at this point? i make sure there's sufficient coolant...why is this happening?
and when i pull off from the red light, or even from parking- i see that the thermostat slowly goes back to just before C (cold) AND as long as I'm driving, I have no problems-the car seems to be running normally because it doesnt drift to HOT.
 
I'd take it back to the shop that charged you for all those parts and didn't fix the problem. I assume you had a reputable repair facility perform the work, if not then I suggest you taking it to one and having a pressure test done, have the fans checked out, and a block test done. Avoid shade tree mechanics at all costs, as all they do is guess and fill their wallets with beer money without fixing the problem.
