I have a 5.5 hp Honda engine that had the timing messed with..?

I need a photo or instructions to show how the cam gear & the crank gear are to be aligned. the guy that disassembled it didn't put a match mark on it....dang it!
 
If you tried to start it like that it is likley that you put one of the valves through the piston.The piston has to be at top dead center,then there is a little o on the cam gear that lines up with a mark on the case or a mark on the crank gear.Is your cam gear on backwards?Look at the other side for the o.
