& shifting issues? The transmission has a 1-2 second shift delay. Example; When backing up and putting into drive....the car tranny does not engage for 1-2 seconds. Very awkward feeling. Feels like an old worn out car with a loose transmission about to fail. Also when slowing down for traffic and then accelerating again...the back shift can be aggressive along with similar delays in engagement upon acceleration. The dealership says it is the cars monitoring system. They also say it is a complex and touchy system. They claim there is nothing wrong with the car........However, whatever is happening is not normal. I have never had a car with this characteristic. I am also not convinced that the dealership is telling the truth. I have worked 18 yrs. for OEM's in my past and many times when there is a problem they either push it off with some interesting excuses & wait to see if the issue escalates. Other times the OEM does not even know how to diagnose the problem, so they tap dance until they gain clarity. The first 14,000 miles I never experienced this issue. Now, with 15,000 miles, it is somewhat frequent (random, but frequent). One other interesting concern - When I am driving down the highway with the cruise on, the engine will randomly respond with what feels like a 1-3000 rpm drop. It is quick and random...but noticeable. My wife often would ask what I am doing. When in reality I did nothing. The dealer claims it must be the air or heat kicking on, or something drawing power. But I have monitored the specific issue while driving, waiting for the rpm drop and surge to happen...and when it does, none of the possibilities mentioned by the dealer took place. Is anyone else out there having similar issue?
