...for concern.? I have a 2004 mazda 6i. When I hit a bump, the entire rear hops. Not bad enough to cause an accident or that I feel the vehicle is unsafe, but enough for concern. I thought it might be tire over inflation or even just the tires themselves, but now I am not so sure. I also thought it could be a broken shock / strut. Any ideas or has anyone else had this problem?

I rebuilt a damaged Mazda6 recently and had the rear axle assembly on the ground. It's a really well made unit. The shocks are difficult to remove and replace but it may be worth your effort to change them as they are nothing special and can wear out, causing symptoms. But,if the rear is feeling too stiff, the tires are probably the reason.Try setting the air pressure at around 28 pounds all around.

did u check tire pressure?
big wheels/sport tires ride harder
did u look at struts for leaks loose parts?
struts only last 80K after 100K they are rattling junk

have your struts and springs check to make sure they are not worn or broken or any other part of the suspension.
