I have a 2003 Buick Park Avenue,.I'm trying to replace the Cabin Air Filter..?

The book in the car says it is under the dash, above the gas petal.. I look & all I see is plastic & a bunch of screws.. Can someone tell me do I remove all the screws & remove the plastic & then find the filters.?. A mechanic told me it is on the passenger side.. Is the book corretc?
