get rid of it or should i fix it? i got it off a dealer used and just made my last payment last month so the car belongs 100% to me. i payed like 7000 for it. is it worth it to fix it or nah?

No. Those cars were some of the worst cars ever made. Very unreliable & people are quickly getting rid of them. They were often plagued with engine, electrical, & trans issues. This should be a lesson in life. Best not to bother with this car anymore. You can put a new rebuilt engine in it if you want to, but it won't help it's resale value. If the cost of the repair exceeds it value, it's not worth it.

Here's the deal; How many miles are on this car? If its over 100,000 you may not want to invest in a rebuilt engine if you are going to have to replace a bunch of out worn out pieces. What kind of shape is the rest of the car in? If the rest of the car is so-so, then you might consider starting with another car. If everything else was okay before the engine let loose, then you may consider the 2-4K investment reasonable. Sometimes you're better off with the "devil" you know than the one you don't. Good luck.

That would be a hard choice. You either have to spend a few thousand on a new engine, or several thousand on a new car. I agree with The Eagle Keeper. Most Dodges aren't very good. I hate to bash an American automaker, but then most Chrysler products are barely American. There's a lot of Mitsubishi to them, and they aren't gonna be much better when they go Fiat.

I all depends in how much you spent on it for the regular maintenance per year and how long you had the vehicle for but I think it sounds like you've owned it awhile now.If the vehicle is in great shape otherwise and you've not invested more then 2,000 a year in it for regular maintenance's it might be worth it if you can find a good low mileage replacement engine or a cheap rebuilt etc.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way personally I don't like those engines and unless the vehicle was in excellent shape and I hadn't spent much on repairs and can get a good low mileage engine I'd not bother with it.Due to it being a buyers market you still might get a better trade in value on it then trying to sell it as crap but it might be a great car to sell off via individual parts.
