...reasonable idea to lower it? My car has needed new shocks for a while and while I'm fairly certain I am going to replace those with the kyb agx, I am wondering if it is worthwhile to try to replace the (I presume original) springs with either something stiffer or progressive and lower. I have stock 16 inch rims with 205-55-r16 toyo proxes 4 on and I was wondering if a drop between 1-1.5 inches would cause a significant amount of problems if I don't also modify control arms and such. I am just concerned that the negative effects will put too much strain on my motor mounts, suspension components, and possibly rub the tires to make it worth the better performance. Anybody know if the celica is meant to be lowered or have a personal experience of their own?
For the record I would probably be changing the springs to eibach proline with 1.1" drop or vogtland 1.5" drop if anyone has a recommendation there. I can get the vogtland as a set with the shocks for almost $100 cheaper.

Id leave the stock wheels/tires and lover it between one-half inch and one inch. I say this because i had a 1989 Nissan 240SX.. No idea HOW they do not SCRAPE and BIG bumps WILL scrape it, but it was HOT and WORTH IT!!

I, personally, would not "Cut the Springs."
