i have a 2000 ford windstar with the 3.8, run's great but the check engine light is on?

some times the engine lopes a little bit but then it run's great, what could be the problem? All the fluids are full and clean
 
The catalytic converter may be messed up, if the vehicle is consuming more gas than it was before the light went on, that's probably the problem.
 
I have an 01 windstar.... maybe the computer in the car just needs to be reset. Sometimes it does that... dont know why... but it happened to mine, too.
 
Take it to a mechanic shop, such as Napa or Pep Boys, and most of them will hook it up to their computer for free and tell you what is wrong with it.
