I have a 2000 Ford Focus, ZX3. Last summer when driving in the desert heat and up an incline near Las Vegas the engine lost power and began to miss. I had to pull over and I shut the engine off. A few minutes later I started the engine and it ran fine. This happened a couple times and I took the car to a Ford Dealer. They diagnosed the problem and said the problem was fixed (new plugs and a throttle body). I had no trouble until this summer and the exact same thing happened in the desert. I never had or have engine performance trouble except in very hot weather (around 100 degrees) and it seems worse up an incline. A friend said it was a fuel pump problem. Anyone have a similar problem or know if the problem is the fuel pump?
