...the key wont come out? but about a week ago i went to start the car and the rpm needle was going up and i wasnt even out off park yet... im guessing my trannys going out but i dont know...i have cancer and need my car to go to my doctors visits in indiana and i live in ohio so im screwed
well i tryed the steering wheel twisting an it turns and my tires are straight it wont go into park the gear is stuck in drive so i turned the car off and i put my emergency brake on... so i dont know i checked my fluid an its fine but im not sure if its my filter or what not i called mecca transmission in middletown ohio where im from and he told me it could be a cable or something but im a girly girl so i dont want them to see me coming if u know what i mean so thank you for your help

At first i was going to say if the key wasnt coming out you might have just locked the wheel, that happens to me all the time and you just need to tilt the steering wheel. As for the rest, it doesnt sound good when my transmission went it did that too, i couldnt go faster then 20 without my rpms revvving up. sorry, maybe someone in your family/friends could drive you. goodluck

Be sure that your gear shifter is fully in park , plus the steering wheel and wheels are straight , then try getting the key out , if that doesn't do it , try giggling the steering wheel and ignition switch.

The rpm problem could just be a bad ground wire or bad wire going to the transmission control module=TCM or it could be that the vehicle's transmission fluid and filter are dirty.

I've fixed many problems dealing with Dodge transmission issues and if you can give me more exact info such as what it doing when you start it up and when you drive it I could probably offer you more help.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way I feel for you and hope you get well soon.
One last thing try calling the dealership up and ask them if any service bulletins or factory recall issues exist for that vehicle and if any TCM program or flash updates exist on it.
