Anyone know around how much this SHOULD cost me? I've lost all faith in mechanics after 4 different places "fixed" a noise coming from my serpentine belt 7 different times.

are you talking about ignition rotor or a brake rotor? the ignition rotor should not even be there, that should be a coil pack type of ignition. the rotors in the brake set ups should be fairly easy to re[place also.

Distributor cap and rotor arm should be less than $25. Ten minute job to replace so if they ask for more than $50 then you are being rinsed.

If you plan on tackling this project yourself I would recommend going to the local auto parts store and purchasing a repair manual (Haynes or Mitchell manuals are good). These manuals will walk you through this project step by step and save you a bunch of money. Not to mention the fact that the manual is a must have for do it yourselfers such as yourself. The manual will cost anywhere from $25 to $35. This is well worth the price, because any information you need for any job is in this manual. Anyway, the parts to do the job yourself will probably be around $75 if you replace the rotors and $25 if you don't. If you still plan on having someone do the work, your probably looking at $150.00 to $250.00. GOOD LUCK!!!.......You are talking about the brake rotor.. aren't you?
