the resale value. please help? I need to sell my motorcycle and need to find information on the correct resale value. I have searched the internet and have not had any luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've told about a jillion times that Harley holds it re-sale value, so I'm guessing you can get at least what you paid for it, maybe more.

If you put it at $6,000 you will never get a call on it. Older Sportsters like that sell all day long in the $3,500-4,000 range. Look at the completed auctions in ebay and you will see what I mean. My '05 1200 with 3,000 miles on it sat half the summer at $6,500. I finally sold it for $5,400. The market for older used Harleys has been hit really hard the last few years.

It's a great bike though. Why don't you just ride it around?

did you look at the motorcycle classified adds lately?
3/4ths of the adds are HD Sportsters for sale
you have a lot of competition and its going to be tough to sell
people are NOT going to spend close to $10K for a used HD when they can buy a brand new one for a few grand more

i'm not trying to be mean or a smart a** I'm just telling you the facts
used HD's are hard to almost impossible to sale

its a sportster, the least wanted of H.D. everybody wants a big twin. And itds 10 yeaqrs old. I bet you can figure to get around 4,000 for it.
