I have a 1998 Toyota Camry that when I turn the car off I lose the station presets and then when I turn the car back on, the radio is off. Is there a battery in the radio that keeps the presets in memory? If so, does anyone know how to take the radio out? I have looked and tried and can't figure out how it comes out.

when you put the stations in, start your car first so the memory will work. do you have the memory wire hooked up?

The radio is wired wrong. There are two hot wires for the radio. One is suppose to be hot only when the car is switched on, the other one is suppose to be hot all of the time. The one that should be hot all of the time is either disconnected, are connected in the wrong place.

it may be a fuse behind the deck(raido). replace it. or it could be a battery connection

there is a wire not hooked up on the radio. one power wire usually red is hooked up to a source turned on with the key. another wire usually orange needs to hook to the car battery, on all the time, this one is probably loose or not hooked up. and ground is black wire.

The radio should have a yellow memory wire that needs to be connected to 12v all the time. the radio manufactur may also call it a remote wire
