I have a 1996 Ford F150 with a 4 inch lift can I put 35 inch tires?

Every tire place I have gone to tells me I can clear
them but I don't want to buy tires that don't fit!!? Help!!!
I had in mind to put BFG All terrains 35x12.5 on 22x12 xd rim.
